Day 119 - Bus rides, Buttresses and Boats

PORT DOUGLAS
The morning activity started with a venture to Mossman to pick up some supplies for our Cape York trip.
We then headed on a bus up to the Mossman gorge. The bus was the highlight for the boys. We can't recall ever taking them on a bus before so this was another 'First' experience for them. When we boarded we told them they could sit wherever they wanted. Judd and Marty chose seats next to each other on a vacant bench. Micah however, went and chose a seat right next to an older man and was quite content, it was super cute 😍.
The gorge had some stunning rainforest. We learnt about buttresses, roots that vein out from the base of the tree and help to stabilise it in the water soaked ground. They also are to help keep part of the root oxygenated and helpful for capturing leaves and other debray that will decay into good ground nutrients. Fascinating!
In the afternoon, we found a playground and flat grassy area for Judd to use his RC monster truck he called CRUZIE.

We saw some cool boats come into the channel from the park and sent some photos to Grandpa Rex and Uncle Joel who both love boats.
