BREMER BAY TO ALBANY
We were up early along with a number of other campers in an attempt to pack up before the rain set in. The entire southwest WA has been hammered by a large amount of rain 🌧️⛈️ so our plans to be spending the next day & night in a bush camp in the Stirling Ranges is up in the air.
As we hit the road Clint and I both felt the same, torn because we wanted to see another beautiful part of the country, but also practically thinking it was going to be a lot harder with kids in another wet bush campsite with minimal shelter. But we also think that the challenging bits are the BEST parts of a trip! They are the times where you grow more as a person, you definitely remember the tough times longer & it's also good for the kids to learn to suck it up & put on a rain coat and get out there! So we decided to go check out the Stirling Ranges and Mt Trio Bush camp.
The car journey was full of lots of crazy car karoke 🎶
The Mt Trio Bush camp was lovely, rustic campers kitchen but not much else.
Also not a very appealing price tag 🤑 we decided we would not camp here, but still check out some of the sights. So it was off to Bluff Knoll for lunch. The wind was howling through but the rain held off, for which we were very grateful.
The mountains were schrouded in mystical clouds today and it was quite beautiful.we are loving the WA bush, it is so amazing to see all these beautiful exotic plants that we try so hard to grow in Melbourne, just growing wild in the bush like a carefully landscaped garden filled with grass trees, flowering gums, banksia's and so many more!
We decided to head towards Albany for the night as this would offer more indoor options for the kids with the weather looking so inclement. We settled on the Big 4 Middleton Beach caravan park mainly due to its amenities available to get us out of the rain. A campers kitchen complete with dining space and wood fire place, a games room and a heated spa!! We choose the most sheltered campsite tucked in behind the camp kitchen and settled in.
Before too long we were checking out the local beach and then headed to the pool & spa. We were all pretty keen for a warm swim. It was so lovely and as relaxing as possible with the kids in tow.
a shower in the LOVELY family friendly bathroom complete with a large corner bath, vase of flowers & a floor towel!! Luxury!!
Dinner was a daddy special 'taco' fish and chips from the local. It was delish 😋
