10th of May a special day for a few reasons... Today is day 30 we have been on the road now for a month ππ!
More importantly it was a special day because it was Mother's Day!! Luckily Claire had suggested to the boys that they remind daddy of this day approaching about a week ago, so it has been flagged well in advance π
Waking up on mother's Day to the littlest one tucked up against my body for some extra warmth and Marty's morning routine of needing to pee at 5am then demanding he has his day clothes pulled out from under the bed where they are stored π€¦πΌ♀️As the sun broke through, everyone climbed into bed and gave mummy some special morning cuddles, love a beautiful card with Judd's and Marty's own writing & drawings and a bag of goodies. π
Then it was straight for showers as Clint had planned a breakfast out. It wasn't a book in cafe, just rock up andπ€ the place was packed, it was beachfront and busy!! We walked straight in to find a table big enough for us and more!! It was called The White Elephant Cafe. Which over looked a lovely swimmers beach & the surf beach where the Margret River Pro is currently being held.
Then it was off to explore the region North of Margret River today. Clint had planned a Maze adventure for the family at Yallingup Maze.
It was a fantastic family friendly outgoing. Kids had a blast on the jumping castle making yet another new friend who then proceeded to run through the maze with us shooting water pistols and trying our best to find our way to the towers at each corner of the maze. After what seemed many many kilometres, kids legs were fading... We successfully completed the maze!! π
It was off to the beach & playground foreshore for the next adventure. Micah slept in the car while we went to Yullingup beach and playground. We both got to call our mothers and wish them a special mothers day. Grandma Gay was having a lunch out with the extended Hartleys' and Granish had arrived at Anuty Jane's Farm in Manilla NSW.
We still had time for one more stop, one that Clint wanted to check out before we left this region and that was the Metricup Beerfarm. There was a great area for kids with old tractors to climb on and a giant hill for rolly pollys. Clint arranged a sharing paddle complete with cider.
Upon dribing back we reflected on our time in the region and both agreed that 3 nights simpy wasn't enough but was more than we had planned and that really 2 weeks in just the margret river area would have been more sufficient. there was enough fmaily friendly activities for the littlies and lots of amazing beaches, caves, tree top walks, wineries and breweries to keep the adults entertained too. Having said that we felt like we had suffuciently packed great range and as much into the 3 days as we could so we reluctantly but willingly were ready to continue on our journey. It made it easier that we were so excited and looking forward to catching up with our friends in Perth, the Pearces.
