MARGRET RIVER TO PERTH (PEARCES)
Today was another significant day in our Journey, we were heading to our first major stop - Perth!
We have arranged to be staying with longtime family friends.
We headed out of the margaret river region with plenty still unseen . You could spend months here looking at a lot more than what we have managed to touch in a couple of days. It is a beautiful region if we returned we would like to spend a lot more time exploring.
We headed for busselton out first stop along the route to perth . Busselton is a beautiful family friendly town with lots of holiday fun experiences. On the foreshore there was an amazing pirate ships playground and the famous Busselton jetty.
The Busselton jetty extends 1.8 kilometres out into the ocean, making it the longest timber pilled jetty in the southern hemisphere. The jetty has been developed into a tourist attraction with a small train taking passengers out to the end where there is an under water observatory. Taking us 9m below the jetty to see the underwater world! The kids loved this experience, particularly the window where you get your first glimpse below water level. The kids loved to see the baby squid, many fish and coral.
It was then a big drive through to Perth arriving after dark. Going through the city on peek hour as the sun set was beautiful but slow!
We arrived at the Pearce house and it was lovely to see them in person... finally! It has been 10 years since we were last there and 9 years since Claire has seen Mel. The cuddles we're beautiful, introducing our boys to Nan-Nan, Aunty Mel & Uncle Justin was a delight.
