Day 45 - Windmills, Pink Lake & Beach Runs

Freshwater Point North to Lucky Bay Campground (Yallabatharra, WA)

Crumpet toast and off again!! Today's first stop was Geraldton. Where it's so windy the trees grow sideways! There were plenty of windmills to add to the ongoing windmill count game.
Left side (Judd & mummy): 245
Right side (Marty & daddy): 247
It's been neck & neck all day, switching the lead multiple times.
Geraldton was a stock up shop opportunity before heading more remote. Kids enjoyed a play at McDonald's playground while we used the free wifi to download the next leg of maps up the North West.
From North Hampton we started seeing damage evidence of ex cyclone..... Sheds squashed, roofs stripped and fences scattered.
We made a stop along the way at the Pink Lake in Yallabatharra. IT WAS ACTUALLY PINK!!!
And set up camp at Lucky Bay, a lovely large open campground with basic amenities and fire places. The boys loved a play at the beach for the afternoon, and a big run for mum & Judd. He loved being my running partner & mentioned that as we were going off to sleep that night "your a good running partner mum!" 😆
I love chatting with him as we ran, talking about how special it is that we can be out here on our own, just us and God. A great opportunity to marvel and thank God for His creation.
