Since we arrived right on dusk the evening before we hadn't had much of a chance to check out the area, it was apparently set right next to the beach although we couldn't hear any waves. Marty was up early this morning, so Clint took him to explore and found that it was instead a quiet inlet, subdued enough for houseboats for which there was one.
Due to his new found love of fishing even though he was yet to officially catch one, Clint threw a line in to see what was biting. To which there was none. However, Percival the Pelican did come to say hi as maybe he thought Clint was a better fisherman and had some to share, but he was sadly mistaken and left shortly after making his appearance.
After a slow pack we hitched up Sandy and headed north for Margret River. We booked in at a private Campground on some acreage along the way, hoping that it held up to its good reviews. We have been using wikicamps to steer us towards the best locations and has so far taken us off the main tracks and allowed us to discover some hidden gems along the way.
We stopped briefly at Northcliffe to make some wraps for lunch and a play at the local playground. The drive towards the Margret River was stunning, we were seeing more giant tingle trees of the side of the road. The land was also becoming more fertile as we begin to see green grass, amazing coloured bushland and livestock. The boys continued to play Windmill as they peered out their windows. Everytime Judd spotted one after getting back into the car, somehow a further 10 are added. He was supposedly now up to 208. We had to adjust Marty's score to roughly match to avoid any disputes.
We arrived at Glenbrook camp and true it it's reviews it looked lovely and peaceful and was fairly cheap too, just $30p/n for the lot of us. Jason the camp manager allocated us in a wonderful secluded spot with a rope swing, fire pit and shelter away from others, as our early starts might not be on the holiday bucket list for the other campers. We were here for the next 3 nights so our set up included putting out the swag.
