STREAKY BAY
Clint tried sleeping in the swag that we brought along with us last night for the first time and thought it was rather dandy 👌 Clint and Judd made pancake breakfast for everyone. Judd was keen to meet his new camp ground neighbour friends again while Marty met a friendly face who was keen to show him his new pet - a Toyota Beatle. It was later explained to me that they are nick named a Toyota Beatle because they move like they are in low range 😂We had past the point where we were meeting families that were just holiday makers, and we are now remote enough that we are meeting others that are crazy enough like us and are doing a big Australian journey. We had met one family that were from Seaford and one month into an 18 month WA tour. And another family who were from QLD spending 6 months doing the coastal lap with a family of 3 including a 6 month old. It is lovely travelling with kids, they help you to be so much more social than we ever would be. I loved watching how quickly the boys made best friends with the kids in the campground. So beautiful
We spent the day rock pooling & playing at the beach with our new friends. One of the guys who Clint got chatting to earlier in the morning who was obviously a very keen fisherman brought around 19 freshly caught King George whiting for us to enjoy. The only catch was we had to fillet them.
Clint got some tips and spent the next hour filleting and bagging. We had at least to full family mmeals
Later in the arvo. We set off for Murphy's Haystacks which again is in the Allison Lester 'Are we there yet?' book so boys were keen to see them
As we arrived the sky was cloudy and grey, Claire prayed as we parked the car that we might get some sunshine on our afternoon.
Boy oh boy does God know how to turn on a spectacular site, not only did the sky open up for the sun to shine through on the boulders but there was a big beautiful rainbow too!! You couldn't wipe the smiles off our faces it was absolutely spectacular!! Thank you God.
We finished the day off at Streaky Bay pub for a lovely family meal. Great day.
