Day 17 - Long Straights, Salmon Gums and Golfing Finale

NUYTSLAND NATURE RESERVE TO NORSEMAN
It was a lovely bush camp at Nuytsland Nature Reserve.
The fire was stoked and there were morning cuddles whilst breakfast was served. Toast and leftover damper on the fire.
on the road again.... Clint had another 5 golf holes to get under his belt today so roadhouse stops were a must! The goal today was to get to another bush camp in the Fraser Range National Park.
The first roadhouse stop was Caiguna, then Bundrabilla, Fraser Range, then 2 in Norseman to round out all the holes we would cross on our journey. Unfortunately Fraser Range turned into a private premises and after a sneaky peak looked like this hole no longer existed.
Clint's Nullabor Links scorecard:
1 Oyster Beds par 5 = 5
2 Denial Bay par 5 = 6
3 Windmill par 3 = 5
4 Wombat par 4 =7
5 Dingos Den par 5 = 8
6 Border Kangaroo par 3 = 6
7 Nullarbor Nymph par 4 = 4
8 Watering Hole par 3 = 3
9 Brumbys Run par 3 = 5
10 Eagles Nest par 4 = 9
11 90 Mike Straight par 4 = 6
12 Skylab par 3 = 5
*13 Sheep's Back par 3 = Unavailable
14 Golden Horse par 4 = 6
15 Ngadju par 5 = 11
31 over par 😂 not the best scorecard but have never played a course that has been such a journey with changing landscapes and scenery. Would love to do it again once day, perhaps with a broader range of clubs and a better scorecard 🤣

Caiguna was the start of the 90 mile straight...road with no bends!!  Daddy drove with his eyes closed.... But we really knew he was peaking 😴😜
As we headed along the way the day got hotter, seems a little unseasonable for the time of year. It was 30 degrees at our lunch stop, where we cooked up some two minute noodles. While daddy cooked up a storm, mummy and boys did some rest stop exercises, mega jumps, running, star jumps carside pushups and the likes.
The boys had traveled quite well this far so we made the call to push through to the next town considering the campsite was just up the road from our lunch stop and we would be sitting in the bush, getting carried away by flies on a stinking hot afternoon.
The landscape really changed, the trees as we drove down the highway were getting bigger and they now had the most magnificent burnt orange coloured trunks, like they had been individually varnished!
We rolled on into Norseman, an old gold mining town. Unfortunately the ANZAC Day holiday meant there was no stocking up on the supplies as everything was closed and the town was like a ghost town....a stinky ghost town... It had a rather peculiar chemical smell. That aside it did offer a lovely warm shower 🚿☺️ which felt amazing after so long without!
Back in range too gave us opportunity to upload our blogs 👏
