Day 14 - Cliffs, Pot Roast, and a Snake

FOWLERS BAY TO BUNDA CLIFFS (CAMPSITE 1)
Everyone was awake by about 6:40AM except Micah. So Clint took Judd and Marty to go check out the distant cliffs. It was a long walk for little legs but there many lessons to keep them distracted along the way. The great questions just kept coming "what is sand made from?" "How are waves made?" "Why can we find shells so far away from the beach?". With their questions answered we finally arrived at the cliff. It was a stunning view and well worth the hike. We built a rock stack and added to one of the other ones. "One day" I said "you might come back here and find these rock stacks a lot bigger, but the cliff and the waves will look the same".
We were packed up and headed off by about 10AM,  there were a couple stops along the way for Clint to complete holes 4 & 5 of the Nullarbor Links Nundroo and Nullarbor both par 5 but shot an 8 on each.
We stopped at the Nullarbor Roadhouse for some pictures but no fuel as it was $1.90p/L and we had half a tank and could easily make it through to Eucla the following day.
We stopped along the way at the Head of Bight, whale watching area for a roadside lunch and decided to go and see if we could find any whales. We were a couple weeks before the start of whale sighting season. We saw a few small funny lizzards and a brown (coloured) snake (1m) who didn't seem bothered by us 😬
We found our campsite at Bunda cliff. It was the most stunning view we have every experienced and we had it all to ourselves. We got a fire going and cooked the most delicious camp oven roast you have ever seen. We thought the occasion called for an excellent bottle from the Clare Valley to match so cracked the Horrocks Shiraz. All agreed over dinner it was our favourite place yet. It was like we were on top of the world!!
