Day One - Windy, Windy, Wet, Windy

HOME TO LAKE MOMBEONG
Our much anticipated journey begun from Healesville at 10AM on Saturday the 10th of April 2021 with a detour via home a forgotten bath bag. We begun our longest planned drive day of 5.5 hours to camp Mombeong just beyond Warrnambool. It was rainy as we set off and rainy when we arrived. On the way we stopped for a Clint special cheese and shapes sandwich because that's all we could get to without having to crack the camper trailer, which, by the way, we named "Sandy" a few years ago on our Pambula trip because she got...sandy.

The kids faired pretty well on our first leg of driving excited by what last ahead. We started our windmill count game, Passenger Vs Driver side, which I don't think will last because no one can agree how many windmills each of us are up to after each stop.
We pulled up to camp after driving in at 5pm. We had to let the pressure of our tyres down as there was some corrugated logging tracks for a few kms to get into site. We found out our booked site and we set up in good time before the rain and wind really set in.
Dinner was a quick spaghetti and sausages with crisped wraps

It was a howling unpleasent first night. We were constantly woken by the canvas flapping in the wind while Sandy rocked back and forth. Claire couldn't recall a worse night camping in all her experience, but we were dry and safe.
