BUTTERFLY FALLS TO LORRELLA SPRINGS
A foggy morning here at Butterfly Falls. A lovely way to start these days that can get quite Hot! For that reason we were up early and packed to get to The Lost City before it did get too warm.
As the fog lifted on our drive out, we encountered a larger black headed python slithering out on the the road to catch to warming sun rays. We stopped to enjoy looking carefully from a distance at the rater angry and coiled snake who kept trying to strike at us.
Lost City was full of Gravillia, as we arrived the pungent aroma of nectar filled the car. The boys spent the first 20mins licking like lorrekeets the honey from the flowers. And teaching other tourists how to do the same.
The walk through the Lost City was 'eventful'. We stopped not long down the track for morning tea and a drone opportunity. On landing the drone, Clint flew into a small shrub and it fell to the ground so Claire tried catching it an sliced her fingers!! Who would have thought it would be that sharp! Oh well the photos were well worth it.
The views were spectacular! Towering rock formations, some looking like chicken drum sticks others looking as if you could push the over. Which we had some fun trying.
After lunch we were hot and ready for a cool car ride to Lorella Springs. The road was fairly rough on the way in so on arrival we were ready for paradise! And it delivered! A lovely station welcome, friendly staff and very inviting. A thermal swimming hole just down the hill from the bar. 🍻👙🌴 We set up in paradise, right next to the swimming hole.
