Day 107 - Fuel Gamble, Lost Lure and Croc Bait

LORELLA SPRINGS TO WEARYAN RIVER
We had a last dip in the thermal pool before we set off. We would definitely come back here, there was still so many unexplored places we wanted to visit, but without playgrounds and a supermarket the boys would lose interest and we would run out of fresh food.
The road was rough and we took the gamble to NOT fill the car up. Because we didn't do the track to a few days ago at Roper River we would have 40L to do 200kms to the next fuel station. With Clint's calculation we had enough to do 235kms, this was including out spare Jerry can 😬.
We rolled into Borroloola with 24kms, another moment of esctacy for the Hartleys. We filled and restocked our fridge with fresh food. We had a nice lunch down by the river before tackling the next leg of our journey today. . It took until lunch to reach Boroloola where we filled the thirsty car and restocked the pantry. We made lunch down by the river. Clint discovered the Anderson plug had been torn off so spent the lunch break soldering on a spare. With reception Claire made a call home to update Granish and GrAndy.

We decided not to go to King Ash Bay as was planned because it was late in the day and it was supposedly not all exciting unless you had a boat and would add 1.5 hours to our journey and would then need and extra day to reach Adel's grove.
It then took the rest of the afternoon to reach our camp by the river. We had another unsuccessful fish. Clint justamaged to get his lure out of an overhanging tree. And we had a quick swim to wash off in the shallows crossing whilst mum and dad stood croc watching.
