DRYSDALE STATIONSTATION - PART 1

Looking back at some of the highlights during our time at Drysdale Station:
- At first we were amazed but quickly became used to the stream of busted up car and trailers that would limp unit the station requiring the payphone to dial auto assistance. The Kalumbaroo road hadn't been graded in over 2 years and was being subjected to the surge of enthusiastic interstate travellers, most of  who's plans had been delayed until now. Their travel dreams where now crumbling as they were being told a tow truck would take a week and then repairs would be even longer due to backlog of repairs being demanded on remote town mechanics.
- Claire finding her feet quickly after being thrown into the deep end learning the bar and table service processes.
- Our first swim in the Drysdale river after a hot day. The boys spent time redirecting the river course and jumping down the built up sand bars. The water was cool and refreshing. We parked CRUZIE across the crossing and gave her a quick wash with a towel. The red dirt caked to the car turned into a rich red mud as it washed away leaving a new car that resembled the car we started our adventure with over 10 weeks ago.
- John arranged a few hours off during the middle of the day to take us all on a drive well off the beaten track through the middle of the bushand then a lengthy walk through the tall long grass to find a site with some amazing rock art.
- We made some new friends Phil and Jen from Sydney. They had 3 kids who were all a couple years older than our mob. They were sick I'm Drysdale until they fixed their trailer that had got a bent leaf spring. Grumpy helped order the parts they needed from kununarra to come out on the weekly food delivery truck.
They talked about going to Mitchell Falls while they were here so we went together the following day on an adventure.
